There are three ways to make money on planet earth:

1. Trading your time for money - also known as JOB (Read 'Just About Broke')
2. Invest your money in order to make a lot more - this carrie! s certain amount of risk and you need to monitor your investments and market trends thoroughly
3. Investing your time to create more time freedom and a lot of money - this is the core concept of Network Marketing, Direct Selling or MLM home business, the most workable idea that is guaranteed to succeed if you're focused, consistent and persistent in your actions.

The concept of MLM business is captured in the essence of the quote by J. Paul Getty, who was one of the first people in the world with a fortune of over $1 billion U.S. dollars, "I would rather earn one percent of the efforts of a 100 people than 100 percent of my own." MLM works on the principle of time leveraging and time compounding. You cannot manage time; you can only manage your priorities. You can only do a certain set of tasks in a day. There is a ceiling on how much you can do in a day or a week but through the power of MLM you can achieve the impossible. You earn money from investing time in ot! her people. This way, you leverage your time, create unlimited! amount of hours and earn a huge amount of money. The more time you have, the more money you can make!

MLM business is the business to serve people. This is the business that changes your personality, makes you more confident, improves your self-image and gives you the opportunity to help people. When you serve people and help them achieve their goals, your goal is achieved.

Let us however look at some of the problems/misconceptions that people have about the MLM business model and the Solutions and Actions that you can take in order to be successful:

Problems:
1. I do not understand MLM2. I think this is a pyramid scheme
3. I do not know what to do in MLM
4. It is not for me.

The Bottom Line
Some Multilevel Marketing plans are legitimate. However, others are illegal pyramid schemes. In pyramids, commissions are based on the number of distributors recruited. Most of the product sales are made to these distributors - not to consumers in general. The underlying goods and services, which vary from vitamins to car leases, serve only to make the schemes look legitimate.

Joining a pyramid is risky because the vast majority of participants lose money to pay for the rewards of a lucky few. Most people end up with nothing to show for their money except the expensive products or marketing materials they're pressured to buy.

Solutions:
1. As with other businesses, the MLM home business is not for everyone. But if you have not understood what Multi Level Marketing is, it is time you did because you are neglecting a highly advanced b! ut extremely simple business opportunity. For instance, let us! take an FMGC (fast moving good company) which sells you products that you generally use in your day to day life like toothbrush, soap etc. The manufacturing cost of these products is quite low. However when you add marketing costs, warehouse costs, advertising costs and other miscellaneous costs, the actual price that you pay is much higher. An MLM company believes in eliminating the 'middle-man' out of this chain and making sure that you make all the money in the chain. MLM is a business of trust. If you like the product or service, you will naturally refer it to people you know. When they use the product/service or promote the idea, you make money. This is a fascinating way to make residual income that will guarantee you happiness. This is the business opportunity that will give you time forever to do the things you had always wanted to do.

2. By the way, Pyramid schemes are illegal. In a chain or pyramid, people give money to a certain business owner or company who does n! ot provide anything of value in return. In MLM you use the high quality product or service at a discounted price. Further you are backed by a supplier and a proven support system that gives you world-class training to do business in an ethical way.

3. Let's take the example of the lady who told her friends about an interesting brand of shampoo that did wonders to her hair. What she doesn't realize is that she was promoting someone else's product and helping the company profit without making a dime. If she did MLM or Network Marketing, she would make money for sharing her views about a product. In a nutshell, what I am implying is that you do not have to worry at all because MLM is all about sharing a plan. You have a support system that gives you a proven way to succeed.

4. MLM home business gives you time freedom, the most important commodity we all want. It gives you financial freedom, it presents you the opportunity to serve other people and it blesses you ! with a peace of mind. There is something for each and everyone! .
Actions:
The MLM Company or its support system will give you the training you need. This will be in the form of a website, books, audio CDs or videos. Work closely with your business partner who has an interest in making your business a success because if you succeed, he becomes even more successful. Your company will hold seminars and company meetings. Make sure you attend all events so that you can brainstorm with the leaders and people who are doing very well in the company. Being successful in MLM home business is easy as long as you are determined to succeed.

Great has been the controversy in the past, is success created thru fate or free-will. On the one hand, fatalists claim that man is so closely bound to the wheel of fate it is impossible for him to live his life in any different way than that which is mapped out for him. He can bring a quantity of first-class evidence in support of his claim and believes in his theory with all his heart. On the other hand, the advocate of free-will believes just as whole-heartedly that man is not bound at all, being as free as air. He, too, can bring plenty of evidence in support of his theory, which confirms him in his belief. Each one of them thinks that the other is wrong, yet they cannot both be wrong! Let us therefore examine the subject for ourselves, for it is an important one.

First of all, let it be said, they are both wrong, in part, and right in ! part. Man is bound to the wheel, yet, at the same time, he has free-will. Let us, therefore, explain this seeming paradox.

It is an ancient truth of the inner teaching that man, when he is unevolved and before he is "unfolded," is bound to the wheel of fate very closely. The unevolved man follows his desires and let's his emotions rule is life, thus creating for himself a future from which he cannot escape. When however, he becomes more evolved he begins to resist following his desires, takes control of his emotions, and strives, instead, to follow higher things. This creates for him a better future and thus he becomes free in comparison with his former slave state. Man is a slave to fate as long as he is a slave to his emotions and the desires of the earth plane. He is, however, free to overcome lower things and thus rise to higher. When he does this he ceases to create a painful future for himself and thus becomes emotionally and spiritually free.

There is! , therefore, fate which is self created. One who has not had m! uch expe rience of life or who has not been a close observer, may deny that there is such a thing, but one who has had great changes in his life, against which he has fought and struggled in vain, knows that there is a purpose working behind the events of life, against which even kings and mighty men are powerless. There come times in man's life when he moves heaven and earth, figuratively speaking: prays until he can pray no more; sacrifices, it may be, his money, his health, his prospects, and does everything that is in the power of a human being in a vain attempt to starve off a threatened disaster. But, in spite of all his efforts, in spite of his cries to a pitiless heaven, the relentless march of fate cannot be stayed. It moves forward like a huge juggernaut and crushes his hopes, his dearest idol, his very life itself or all that then makes his life worth living-and leaves him desolate and success of any kind is unattainable.

"If then," you may ask, "fate is so pitiles! s and so powerful, what can be done with it and where does free-will enter into the matter?" In reply it must be admitted at one that it is no use fighting fate. The more man fights it, the more completely he gets broken. There are certain main events in life which must come to pass. These events and changes are inevitable and it is hopeless to fight against them. While these things, which constitute what we call fate, are inevitable and therefore cannot be avoided, it rests with ourselves how we meet these adversities and disasters. If we meet them in the wrong mental and emotional state they break us. If however, we meet them in the right mental and emotional state we become stronger through discipline and experience, thus becoming better fitted to bear life's responsibilities and to overcome its difficulties and temptations. One who meets the setbacks, griefs, bereavements and disasters of life in the right spirit becomes emotional free, strong and rich in character. He ! becomes mellowed through experience, strong, stable, a helpful! influen ce to all who meet him.

When things go smoothly and life is a merry-go-round, no philosophy or religion seems necessary, and "as for an inward power, what of it, we can do very well without it. " So say the foolish and inexperienced, but there come times in every man's life, when in deepest despair, calls out to his God and not only is a very good philosophy, necessary, but also a power, of which the human self knows nothing, is needed in order to raise the soul out of the dust and ashes of its despair. It is one thing to meet trouble and adversity in the right spirit, with the right emotions and quite another thing to have the power to do so. One who thinks that he has no power within him but that all the power is in circumstances, can never rise victorious over his troubles and achieve success; but one who realizes that he possesses a wonderful power that can raise him up, no matter how crushed he may be, can never be a failure in life. He will meet with failures a! nd set-backs but he will make of these, stepping-stones to success.

In addition to the "fate" or "future" which every thought and action builds, there is, behind all evolution, a gigantic plan. This wonderful plan that embraces all, from the stupendous conception of a limitless universe down to the smallest electron, is being worked out through the ages with absolute precision. Nothing can prevent this plan from being brought into manifestation. It gathers up our past and weaves it into our present life; just the same way that it is busily gathering up our present life and weaving it into future fate. It works it all into the big plan, somehow, and with infinite skill. The plan is bound to be followed (this, too, is fate) but HOW we follow it, either with emotions of willingn! ess and happiness or opposition or woe, rests with us (this is! free wi ll).

Let the despairing take heart again. Believe in the Power with you and you will rise to heights before undreamed of. With this Power to help you, you can achieve unlimited success.

Praise the Lord! I now am part of a community of like minded entrepreneurs, women who understand the journey to financial and time freedom. Women who understand the meaning of working as a team to accomplish goals that will help themselves while at the same time help many others. We understand the journey to financial freedom and collectively we will support one another in the attainment of our individual goals.

My journey began as my 28 year career of faithful service to a large pharmaceutical company came to an end with the all too common corporate downsizing. Being downsized led to some serious soul searching about what my career move should be. I knew corporate America was not for me and that I needed to do something that would change my life in a major way. My desire was to help people not just contribute to a corpor! ations bottom line. I wanted to achieve financial goals in a life changing business working with others that shared my Christian values. I desired financial and time freedom that would allow me to spend time with those dearest to my heart while helping others do the same.

Financial freedom is a goal that is shared by many; sadly many are not willing to step out in faith and pursue their dreams. I believe God has given each one of us a unique purpose and if we are to be truly fulfilled we must know that purpose and live according to its principles. Learning what our purpose is requires introspection and integrity. Stopping to reflect on our past, present and what we hope our future will be helps us to better understand our purpose. For me, consulting God's Word and committing to live by the values outlined helps me continue on life's purposeful journey, one that will honor the Lord and allow me to honor myself and others.

Living an honorable life with financi! al freedom and the associated time freedom is achievable throu! gh invol vement in a life changing business. A life changing business worked in the peace and comfort that my home provides. Working with a tranquil mind allows me to more effectively support others. Helping others understand they too can have peace and sanity while earning an income that gives them the lifestyle they are seeking is truly a joy.

Working is good for us. Working productively and achieving personal goals that allow me to be free to focus on my life passions is a blessing. Having reached a mature age I realize more and more how quickly time goes by. Looking back I see mistakes made and I see how much time was invested in working outside of the home at the expense of providing a nurturing environment for my family. I cannot undo the past; however, I choose to learn and shape my future so that I can be available and tangibly helpful to my family and many others. I seek happiness through giving my time, talent and energy to support life goals for others, especially ! women and children.

Working with Christian women who are courageous and willing to share themselves for the good of others is a precious gift. Being open minded and hopeful for a future that serves my God and allows me to live a life of prosperity is my stance. This does not mean being greedy or self-serving, it means being grateful, positive and balanced. Theses attributes will lead to financial freedom in a life changing business that is growing daily.

Thankfully, a community of Christian women in business is motivational and provides the necessary support needed for personal growth. Financial freedom does not happen over night, but takes time, commitment and perseverance. These additional excellent qualities are great to have and will help me continue on a successful journey. Keeping my focus on God in the company of other Christian entrepreneurs will encourage me as I seek to encourage others. Remembering always that it is the love of God I seek to emula! te will keep my mind and actions focused in the right directio! n.

More on prospecting the MLM markets; the experts recommend we use a combination of methods to build our organization. Most people are a little leery of bombarding their friends, family and associates at first for fear of alienating them, yet most companies instruct you to make a list of 100 people you know and hit 'em all right off the bat. Our team feels it's preferable to build your business using other MLM markets, and then when you have positive results to show your family, tell them about it if you choose, and IF THEY ASK.

Each one of us has only so many relatives and will soon run out of what we refer to as our 'warm market'. That's why our team has the website, lead tracking system, email, lead brokers and proprietary lead generating programs so a! nyone, anywhere is our MLM market. If you are serious about building the kind of organization that will enable you to live the life you desire and deserve, you should be prepared to harvest the unlimited world MLM markets. Don't worry about the how, just be open to it.

Having said that, your company of choice MUST be licensed and technologically able to do business in multiple countries. We are currently in 30 markets world-wide and that number will increase with time.

When researching MLM opportunities, remember to ask about how the product is delivered to the customer. Do you order the products for customers and deliver it, do you take the product from an inventory you keep at your home, or does the parent company handle the orders and ship directly so you're hands off when it comes to processing them? In my company, we need not handle ANY product unless we choose. That leaves more time for us to take care of the important business-building and income-genera! ting activities.

In addition, the company takes care of! collect ing the appropriate sales tax at each transaction. I really don't want to be involved in that, do you? In my state, it means I don't have to apply for a Sales Tax Transaction Privilege tax number.

Another important aspect of researching MLM opportunities, is general information for small business owners like MLM tax info that will help you get up and running quickly and effectively and enable you to seamlessly carry on a legitimate business with ease. Does the parent company provide its associates with basic strategies for entrepreneurs running their first business?

On gratitude: I've sent many samples to prospective customers and business partners, and some of them didn't even acknowledge that they received them, never mind thank me. If someone takes the time and effort to send a sample to you, return the favour by letting them know you got it, thank them, and follow up with them once you've tried it to give them some honest feed back.

A critical point to note: although network marketing has certainly come into its own in the past five years or so, it's still regarded by many as an MLM scam, a pyramid scheme, a waste of time and money... we've heard it all. This is pure ignorance. If these people listened to any of the expert wealth-building multi-millionaires in the world, they'd know a network marketing busines! s is far from an MLM scam; it's mandatory if the average person wants to elevate their financial situation and retire above the poverty line, never mind enjoy true financial freedom. I predict there will come a time when people will think you're an idiot if you don't have an MLM business.

If you are finally of the mind that nothing in your life will change if you don't do something different-CONGRATULATIONS!!! You are listening to Spirit, your heart, your gut, and you're absolutely right. You're on the brink of taking the inspired action that will enable you to reach your dreams. DON'T LET ANYONE TALK YOU OUT OF IT. You need to do this. It's part of who you are.

Of course it's a lot better to have their support, but let them ridicule you for getting sucked into an MLM scam. Let them sneer with disapproval. Let them turn their backs on you, if that's how they are. If you have a strong enough desire to succeed, you will, and letting small thinkers trample your d! reams will leave you a frustrated and bitter person.

Yo! u'll be one of those saying, "If only I hadn't listened to them. If only I'd done what I wanted to do, I could be debt-free and taking eight weeks holidays a year by now. I could be spending a lot more time with my kids, I could have bought a new house by now, a new car..." You have those dreams for a reason. You deserve them. Don't let anyone hold you back. Don't associate with what master trainer Kim Klaver calls "pukies". Make your business partners your new friends, and listen only to them and those who support you. They'll help you fight the network marketing fears.

Thanks to my team, the advice they shared, other supportive people and my own desire and determination to become the kind of person someone would want to partner with, I was able to morph into someone I'd only dreamed I could be, and I'm not done yet!

One last word of advice-don't fall prey to 'buyer's remorse'. If you did your research and felt good about making your decision for all the right reasons! but days later are panic-stricken and asking, "Egads--what have I done?" (like I was) don't let ego or the logical side of your brain second guess you. I told my mentor about my network marketing fears and we laughed about it. I've never looked back.

This is an important LIFE decision. You went with your gut, and your heart, and that's the right thing to do. Armed with all I've shared above, you will make the right decision to banish your network marketing fears. Ego will always TRY to protect you and keep you safe, but unfortunately, that means preventing you from stepping outside your comfort zone. That's what average people do; stay safe, out of fear. If you and I were average, I wouldn't have written this, and you wouldn't be reading it.

If you stay where ego feels you're safe, you'll never grow, and you'll never accomplish anything worthwhile beyond what you're currently doing. Tell ego, "thanks very much for looking out for me, but I can take it from he! re." It takes courage to have a dream. Go for it. Walk with Sp! irit, wi th all you've got, and it's yours for the taking.

For instance, my site is a Christian site on how to get Gods word out to the public, taking different roads and using the internet as a tool. When I start a blog, it is a subject related to getting Gods word out and giving them valuable understanding information according to Gods word.

(Example) If you sell golf clubs, you want to talk about the experience you may have had on the golf course. You can make your customers feel empowered if you inform them to make their own decisions, as opposed to saying, "This is a great product! You should buy it!" The goal here is to smoothly introduce them to your product.

Blogging is a great way to promote your home business, not only does it give you the opportunity to increase traffic, it is also one of the benefits that give you the opportunity to educate your viewers. In t! urn, you will gain more sales because you are now recognized as an expert who knows what you are doing. Here are four tips to keep in mind when you create a blog.

1. By sharing important information with your viewers, you are gaining customers and giving them a reason to stay on your site longer. It is a proven fact that the more time your customer and potential customer stay on your site, your chances are a lot better they will make a purchase from you. The more your customers return for your valuable knowledge, the possibility is great to make a lot more sales.

2. Your familiar tone of blogging will create a window of opportunity for your customers to see that there is a real person behind your business. The internet is the means of mass communication for conveying ideas or information , by creating a blog you will be adding your own personal nature by what you put into it. This will create that open window of customer trust and loyalty.

Each topic will then point back to the starting place, related topics make comments on each other. As a result, they gain more groups of people that all have something in common and shared interests.

It is a well-understood axiom of the business world that there are two ways to improve the bottom line of the business. Stated simply, those two ways are to make money or to cut costs. Now, no business can cost cut their way to profitability. But by the same token, waste and excessive internal costs for any business can eat away any profits that business is enjoying. So to get ahead in a competitive business environment, both methods must be employed.

When a business turns its eye to cost cutting, there is a stated or unstated business objective that the business owners will discover significant bleeding of revenues that are going on within the systems of doing business. So if those systems can be improved to eliminate that waste, the business would literally make money from the inside out because the overhead of the business would drop so dramatically.

The usual pro! gress of such a cost saving campaign by a business is to find "the low hanging fruit" first. By that we mean that in order to satisfy the demands of management, middle management will identify superficial savings in hopes of satisfying the requirement. Hence switching from disposable cups to mugs or cutting back on break room amenities often go on the chopping block first.

Sadly, while there may be some superficial savings to be found in such places, the significant introduction of efficiencies for any business lie at a deeper level and take a more in-depth process of locating problems with how things get done internally. The methodology of finding these "money pits" within a business is often called "Process Improvement." The concept of process improvement is to diagram a particular business process from inception to completion and document the stages it goes through, the handing over of authority for the process and to pin point places where inefficient methods are! causing excessive cost in executing that process en route to ! the fina l stage of process completion.

Routinely, the areas of business structure that most often identified as being candidates for a process improvement examination are...

* Excessive overhead between departments. Departments within a business are notorious for taking on the atmosphere of a fiefdom and becoming resistant if not suspicious of other departments in the same company. When that happens, department managers will introduce paperwork and unnecessary processing to cause "work" to move to his or her department from another or for completed jobs to continue along their path. This excessive overhead can be costly at the department level and bog down the business as a unit enough to actually reduce the profitability of the organization.

* Communication problems. A business process moves through the organization as each department or entity adds value to the process through to the completion of the job. However if communications between departments or peopl! e along the process chain are flawed, a process can grind to a halt and wait for hours if not days before the missed communication is discovered and the work is put into the cycle to be completed. This slow down or break down in communications can be a tremendous drain on the company. To correct the problem, modern tools of communication should be reviewed so each significant person along the chain is quickly made aware of work that needs to be done and can signal to the next agent that their step is complete and that the process is moving to the next stage.

* An inefficient IT infrastructure. Out of date computer programs that are not integrated with each other cause needless work to be done to take data from one system and moving it into the next computer program only to be entered again at the next stop along the chain. Standardization and integration of data and systems will introduce huge efficiencies to the process.

By streamlining the process of moving! a business requirement from inception to conclusion, we can r! emove mu ch of the inefficiency and waste that has become inherent to that process. We can introduce up to date integration designs both at the IT and process level to quickly move the process from one department to the next upon completion. The outcome is a streamlined organization that is no longer "bleeding money" due to inefficiencies and as such is making money "from the inside out".

If negative feelings surface, it may mean that you are fearful about starting a business and leaving the security of a job. This is when you have to look at the positives of owning a business like the flexibility, freedom and income potential it will offer you compared to your day job. Remember, this is something you can start part-time and then transition to full-time when you see the money start coming in.

If you focus on the positive, you will attract positive results. If you have a purpose in mind and aim to fulfill it, you will be able to choose the business ! that is right for you.

Start with your skills and talents. You can never go wrong with what you already know. With this in mind, what you know will attract what you want. Write down a plan of action and start with the basics. Paint a visual picture in your mind of what you want. This will help you attain your Definite Purpose faster.

If you have the sense of purpose to know exactly what you want in a home-based business, you don't have to look very far because everything starts in the mind and how you envision it to be. You will just attract more of it, if you put your thought and focus on it.

Using the Law of Attraction is not just getting lucky. It is about defining what you want and thinking about it long enough to create a mental awareness of what you need to do to accomplish it. Once you keep taking some action, the rest will follow. It is just that simple. In short, you attract situations into your life that help you achieve your goals.

It is hard to get good help. This is true, very true indeed. Admittedly, slacking is a forte of mine. Don't really know where it started, probably back when we were kids and we have an all-around nanny. Yes, an all-around individual that cleans, cooks, irons and cleans again. After searching through our database of local establishments that offer residential cleaning maid services, my pregnant mom (couple of months before her due date) decided that she'd be needing help---a lot of it. She needed someone to assist her not only around the house but also in the hospital. After the delivery of my older sister, the helper turned into a stay-in, fulltime nanny who does household chores. The following year, I was born. Our helper provided much assistance to our family for almost a decade---then she decided to have a family of her own.

Again, we started digging our noses in the database----recommendations from! relatives, friends and neighbors. We even ask the local church for some referrals (where else to find trustworthy people than in a church, right?) Moving on, with the bar set high---we searched for a person who can address our house requirements. Phone calls were made. Interviews finished. Screening, not so successful. Up front, we already mentioned what we need, an all-around helper. One who sweeps the floor and does laundry; one who knows how to cook and does the dishes. Simply put, an all-around house help. (I know we're a bit demanding but that's what we need.)

If you imagined of a perfect maid/nanny/superhero who does detailed cleaning, who'll scrub the corners or get down on their knees---that's just it, an imagination. Each of us possesses our own guidelines on choosing cleaning companies, be it house cleaners or janitorial services, but let's be real. Ninety-nine percent of these guidelines will not be completely satisfied. We may not find the perfect house ! cleaners, but we can get someone close enough to our standards! .
Initially, one must define what needs to be done and what not to be touched. There should be an outline or list that reflects what must be accomplished according to its priority. Ask about their limitations. Do they scrub bathrooms? How about the windows? How about the laundry? Remember to negotiate and communicate. If you want detailed cleaning, be sure to hand over a detailed list. (A list that she understands, not some gibberish written in a piece of paper stuck in the fridge with crayon scribbles all around the page.) If an item needs special treatment, reiterate the same. An example would be not to move your precious chinaware or your antique figurines or vacuum your silk carpet.

If your expectations are not met, here's an idea. Put into play the assessment of one's performance. First couple of months would be the trial period, afterwhich an assessment will be made to determine if you're going to stick with your current maid or not.

Whatever you choose! , be it an independent cleaning lady or a home cleaning service; note that the relationship between you and your cleaning lady is a long one. You should be at ease when dealing with one. Sooner or later, your house cleaners will know what you want in terms of residential cleaning like the place where you usually run your fingers through (kitchen counter, anyone?). And the right place where items must be put. Give your housecleaners a month or two, if they'll perform well---meaning at par with your standards---you'll know that your housecleaner is for keeps. If not, start screening for another one but don't let go of your current cleaning lady if you have yet to find a replacement.

To wrap up, it'll be your discretion if you'll stay with the current or find a replacement. I believe that when given ample, house cleaners will be familiar with how you run your household.

What kind of MLM prospecting will you favour? Do you love to talk to people face to face? Removing stains are infuriating, removing stains on your carpet is even more frustrating. Majority of us have tried various solutions to address the same---from utilizing packets of baking sodas to hiring residential or commercial cleaning services. The latter, though very effective, often use chemical cleaners that may prove to be harmful not only to the environment but also to oneself. With this said, I'll discuss a few of the Earth-friendly and budget saving tips to put a touch of green in carpet cleaning.

Before anything else, one ought to know that when attempting to eliminate a "recently stained" carpet, excess liquid must be blotted off, not rubbed off. Rubbing may cause further seepage that will produce unsightly consequences. In addition, I advise that one use a white cloth or towel when removing the same. Dyed fabrics and brown paper bags may! pass on its color to your once pristine carpet.

Vinegar & Dishwashing Liquid. Let's start with wine, cola, fruit punch, beer or coffee spills. These are the 'ingredients' that you'll need: vinegar, water and a paper towel (dishwashing liquid may come in handy too.) Start by blotting off excess, then spray white vinegar solution---mix ¼ cup of white vinegar with ¾ cup of water---to neutralize the stain. Leave for a couple of minutes. Blot. If stain remains, try applying a mixture of a teaspoon of dish detergent with a cup of water. Remember, not to use dishwashing liquids that contain bleach or lanolin. You'll end up ruining your carpet. To dry, place a layer or layers of paper towel atop of the area, place a book to serve as weight. Stain still there? Then use hydrogen peroxide. Allow this to set on the stain for several hours. It will chemically react with it and release the stain. Blot it off again.

Baking Soda and Salt. Our precious dogs are very generou! s, always leaving 'presents' for us to see and unfortunately, ! smell. I f you have pets of your own, you'll know what I'm talking about---that's why baking soda is a staple for cleaning, in this case, absorbing foul, reeking odors. For instant carpet deodorizer, mix a pound of baking soda to a teaspoon of essential oil. Mix thoroughly to work out lumps. Sprinkle over the area where the damaged was made. Let it sit for an hour then vacuum. Baking soda or a coarse table salt, like kosher can be sprinkled directly onto the liquid stain. Leave for approximately 10 minutes. The liquid should be completely absorbed by then. Blot with a damp cloth or sponge after all the baking soda or salt has been removed.

Ice Cubes. For that pesky gum stuck on your carpet, you need not fret. Remember, what you did when you had gum stuck in your hair, it's the same process. One may choose between peanut butter or the ice cube method. Honestly, I prefer the latter. I really don't want to deliberately spill peanut butter in my carpet. Anywho, place the ice insid! e a zip top bag and put it directly on top of the gum causing the latter to harden. Once the gum solidifies, you can easily scrape the same with a dull knife.

Sunlight, though this is not a household item, you can use it free of charge. Almost all commercial bleaches are harmful to the environment due to its chemical composition. I bumped into this website that suggests a natural alternative, sunlight. Same possesses strong bleaching effect. Wet the stained area and leave it outside in direct sunlight. Once it dries, wet it again and keep repeating said process, until the stain has disappeared.

These are only a few of the household items (excluding sunlight) that may be utilized in lieu of the expensive carpet cleaning services and commercial cleansers. However, it is very important that one take the time to know the proper carpet and upholstery cleaning instructions presented by the carpet company. If one is not sure, find an inconspicuous area of the carpe! t then test for color fastness. Note that different materials ! could be damaged by a cleaning solution. If you're still unsure, contact a residential cleaning company that offers professional carpet upholstery cleaning services. Ask them how you should go about removing a stain on your particular carpet.
